Howard Myers and Fresno Deputy MP Brian Exline – Santa Clara News Online
By Robert Haugh
Good – The Leg Drop price:
Community leader Howard myers wins this week’s Leg Drop Award.
Advisers Anthony becker and Kevin Park failed to report their encounters with the 49ers.
They are obliged to do so because of a municipal decree.
A day later, Myers filed a formal complaint with the city.
This caused Becker to change his schedule. Kudos to Becker for doing the right thing even though he was forced to.
Park still hasn’t. And it’s been 101 days since we first broke the story of its violation. It has been 192 days since Park’s unreported encounter with the 49ers.
The bad – The Jabroni Prize:
Fresno County Assistant District Attorney Brian Exline lost his frivolous lawsuit against Mayor Lisa Gillmor. His appeal of an earlier Gillmor win was dismissed, 3-0. Ouch.
Exline wins this week’s Jabroni Award.
The big question is who paid. Some community leaders believe it was the 49ers.
It wasn’t Exline. It was one University of Santa Clara Law student at the time. And the costs of the trial were in the range of $ 100,000 to $ 200,000 according to local lawyers. Wow.
This raises ethical and legal questions.
