Man arrested in San Francisco in fatal Polk Gulch shooting faces murder, weapons charges – CBS San Francisco
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) – A San Francisco man faces homicide and multiple weapons charges following a fatal shooting in the Polk Gulch neighborhood almost a month ago.
Police said the victim was gunned down in the 100 block of Fern Street at around 1:40 a.m. on May 8. Police found the victim, identified as Robert Luis Mena Gallardo, 25, on the sidewalk with gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Homicide investigators were able to identify the suspect as 25-year-old Ulysse Gutierrez. On May 18, agents located Gutierrez near 46e Avenue and Judah Street in the city’s Sunset District.

Gutierrez was incarcerated in the San Francisco County Jail for murder, carrying a loaded firearm in public, banned person in possession of a firearm, as well as a probation violation.

According to prison records, Gutierrez is being held without bail. His next court appearance is scheduled for Tuesday.
