San Francisco Giants news: Thursday’s game against the Nationals postponed
The San Francisco Giants will not start their four-game streak with the Washington Nationals on Thursday, as originally planned. About half an hour before the scheduled first pitch at 4:05 p.m. PT, it was announced that the game had been postponed due to rain. A lot, apparently.
To make up for the lost match, a double program is scheduled for Saturday.
Tonight’s game has been postponed and will be played on Saturday in doubles.

It’s a double split schedule, rather than a traditional schedule, meaning there are two set start times and two different crowds. In a traditional doubles schedule – as a Giants player earlier in the season – there is only one ticket sold for both games, and the second begins within 45 minutes of the end of the first.
The first match of the split doubles schedule will start at 11:05 am PT, while the second will be at 4:15 pm PT, the time originally scheduled for Saturday’s game.
Due to the recent rule change, matches will last every other seven innings. The Giants will also be entitled to a 27th player for the roster on Saturday.
So take a day off to watch Giants baseball and get ready for a baseball brunch followed by a baseball dinner in a few days.
