San Jose earthquakes welcome fans at full capacity
SAN JOSE, Calif. (KRON) – In the South Bay, a big soccer game for the San Jose Earthquakes as they play against the LA Galaxy.
The game is known as the “California Clasico” and the first major sporting event in Santa Clara County at full capacity.
The game was exhausted.
The fans are so excited to be back, for many of them this game is a family reunion.
“I haven’t seen these people for a year and a half and today I love it, I can’t wait to hug them all,” said Luis Ramirez.
Fans of the San Jose earthquake arrived early for the first time in over a year.
“It’s the first outing in a while, you know, we’re just excited here, we’re here to see Chicharito even though I’m a Quakes fan,” said Vicente Gonzalez. “And we’re here to have a great time with the family. “
Gus Camillinga has hired a group for his company meeting.
“This occasion is very symbolic for us as a company, we come to each of these events and have a great time as you can see,” he said.
The Quakes play against the LA Galaxy and this is the first major sporting event in Santa Clara County without any COVID restrictions.
The tailgate parking lot was filled with tents, food and music a few hours before the main event.

The kick-off is set at 7 p.m.
The team will also honor hundreds of frontline half-time workers.
