Santa Clara County Libraries to Expand Hours Next Week – SFBay
Santa Clara County Libraries are expanding their hours of operation next week.
Changes from Monday will add an additional 18 hours per week for patrons to visit the library, browse collections, use public computers and printers, book a meeting room or read in the library, County Librarian Jennifer Weeks said. .
“Providing extra hours of service gives our clients more options to come to the library at their convenience. “
The libraries in Cupertino, Milpitas, Los Altos and Saratoga will be open Monday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The only exception is the Woodland Library in Los Altos, which will be open from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
The Campbell Express Library will be open Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
In Morgan Hill and Gilroy, County Libraries will be open Monday through Wednesday from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Thursday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The change in hours is part of the County Library District’s phased approach to a full reopening after months of closure due to the pandemic.
The Library District hopes that by the fall, all locations will be open seven days a week and resume evening hours.
Masks are still mandatory in county libraries, regardless of immunization status, as many children use the services and are not eligible for the vaccine, the library district said in a statement.
Those who prefer the contactless service can still make the curbside pickup and appointments can be made at https://sccld.org/curbside/.
